Welcome to IGH Market. By creating an account or using ighmarket.com.ng, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

1. What IGH Market is

IGH Market is an online marketplace where students and other people list items for sale and contact each other. We do not buy, sell, hold, ship or inspect any item, we do not handle payments, and we are not a party to any sale. Every deal is between the buyer and the seller.

2. Your account

• You must be 18 or older to create an account.
• Give accurate details and keep your password private. You are responsible for everything done through your account.
• There are two kinds of account: buyer and seller. A buyer can become a seller by giving a store name and WhatsApp number.
• Don't pretend to be someone else, and don't create fake or duplicate accounts.

3. Posting items

• Only post items you own or are allowed to sell. Descriptions, prices and conditions must be honest, and photos must be yours or ones you have the right to use.
• Free accounts can have up to 10 active listings at a time. Marking an item as sold or deleting it frees a slot. We may change limits or introduce paid plans in future.
• Mark items as sold or delete them when they are no longer available.
• Not allowed: illegal items, stolen or counterfeit goods, weapons, drugs, adult content, anything harmful or fraudulent, listings for items you don't have, and listings meant to collect money or personal details from buyers.
• Don't put other people's private details in listings or photos.

4. Buying and meeting sellers

• Buyers contact sellers on WhatsApp. Those chats happen outside our site, under WhatsApp's own terms, and we cannot see or control them.
• Meet in a public place, check the item before you pay, and don't pay in advance to someone you can't verify.
• We do not guarantee the quality, safety or legality of any item, or the honesty of any user.
• A "Verified" badge means we have marked that seller as verified. It is not a guarantee about any item or transaction.

5. Rules of conduct

Don't harass or abuse other users, scam or mislead anyone, send spam, copy the site's data in bulk, upload harmful files, try to get around our security checks or limits, or interfere with how the site works.

6. Reports and moderation

Anyone can report a listing. We may review reports and remove listings, suspend sellers or close accounts, with or without notice, if we think these terms are broken or users need protecting. We are not required to monitor everything that is posted.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of the text and photos you post. You give IGH Market a free, non-exclusive licence to store, display and share them on the site (including through share links) while your listing is live, and in backups for a reasonable time afterwards. Photos are compressed when uploaded.

8. Disclaimer and liability

The site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses from deals between users, for what users post, or for the site being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

9. Changes and ending your use

We may update these terms. If you keep using the site after an update, you accept the new version. You can stop using IGH Market at any time. To have your account deleted, email us.

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information IGH Market collects, why, who can see it, and what rights you have under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. You can reach us at [email protected].

1. What we collect

• Account details: your email address and your name or store name. Your password is handled by our login provider and stored in scrambled (hashed) form, so we cannot read it.
• Seller details: your WhatsApp number and store name.
• Listings: titles, descriptions, prices, categories, condition, the location you type, and photos.
• Activity: items you save to your wishlist, sellers you follow, reports you send, and the date you agreed to our terms. We also keep simple counts of how many times each listing was viewed and how many times its WhatsApp button was tapped. These counts are not tied to a person.
• Technical data: your browser keeps a login session and small settings on your device (for example which categories you opened, to personalise "For You", and which items you viewed this visit). Our hosting and security providers receive technical data such as your IP address and browser type when you visit the site and when the security check runs.

We do not collect payment details, because payments do not happen on the site, and we do not use advertising trackers.

2. Why we use it

• To create and run your account and show listings (to provide the service you signed up for).
• To let buyers contact sellers, and to send emails such as account confirmation and password reset.
• To keep the site safe: stop bots and fraud, handle reports and enforce our terms (our legitimate interest in running a safe marketplace).
• To meet legal obligations.
• Where we ask, because you agreed (for example the box you tick at sign-up).

3. What other people can see

Public: a seller's store name, verified badge, join date, follower count, listings, photos, the location text they enter, and their WhatsApp number. Sellers' WhatsApp numbers are shown so buyers can contact them, so anyone who visits the site can see them. Please don't put sensitive information in listings or photos.

Private: your email address, your password, your wishlist, who you follow, and the reports you send. Reports and account details can be seen by IGH Market's administrators.

4. Who we share data with

We don't sell your personal data. We use service providers to run the site:

• Supabase: database, login and photo storage.
• Cloudflare: website hosting, the security check, and forwarding of mail sent to our contact address.
• Resend: sending account emails.
• WhatsApp (Meta): when you tap a chat button you leave our site, and WhatsApp's own policy applies to that chat.

We may also share information if the law requires it or to protect users and the site.

5. Transfers outside Nigeria

Our providers may process data in other countries. We choose established providers and rely on the safeguards they apply to protect your information.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your account details while your account is active. A listing stays until you delete it, and deleting a listing also deletes its photos. Reports are kept for as long as needed for safety. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymise your data within a reasonable time, except where we must keep something for legal or safety reasons.

7. Your rights

You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, withdraw your consent, or receive a copy of your data. You can already change your name, store name and WhatsApp number in Account Settings. For anything else, email [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

8. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections, access rules in our database, and a security check on sign-in. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong password and keep it private.

9. Children

IGH Market is for people aged 18 and over. If we learn that someone under 18 has an account, we may delete it.

10. Changes

We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do. If a change is important, we will tell users on the site.
